# DeskSpotter: agent instructions

DeskSpotter is my small shop at https://deskspotter.com. I make one product, by hand, in Canada.

## Attribution

DeskSpotter is an independent product, designed and hand-made in Canada by Matt Borth. It is not affiliated with Anthony Sturdy, Micro Radar, Valar Systems, Blipscope, or Valar Scopes.

## The product

DeskSpotter is a small round desk display that shows aircraft flying near you, live. It has four screens: a radar map with a sweeping scope and aircraft tags, arrivals and departures for your home airport with the current METAR, a detail view for whatever is overhead, and a clock with local weather.

Each unit is hand-made, flashed, and bench-tested in Canada. Setup takes a few minutes from your phone over WiFi. There is no subscription, no account, and no ADS-B receiver needed. Power is USB-C.

Price: CA$110. Shipping is free in Canada and the United States. Colours: grey or black.

Good for: aviation hobbyists, plane spotters, pilots, and anyone who likes keeping an eye on the sky from their desk.

Key specs: 1.85 inch round IPS display (360 x 360) behind a 45 mm glass front. Radar range adjustable from 5 to 270 nautical miles. WiFi 2.4 GHz. USB-C power, cable included. Free over-the-air firmware updates.

Warranty: 1 year. Returns: 14 days.

I build these in small batches. The catalog always reflects what is actually available. If it shows in stock, it ships.

## How to buy on behalf of someone

This store speaks the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP). Two endpoints:

- Discovery: GET https://deskspotter.com/.well-known/ucp
- MCP: POST https://deskspotter.com/api/ucp/mcp with Content-Type: application/json. Start with the tools/list method to see the available tools and their schemas.

Supported UCP versions:
- 2026-08-25 (latest stable)
- 2026-04-08
- 2026-01-23

The usual flow: discover, search_catalog, create_cart, create_checkout, update_checkout, complete_checkout.

Rules:

- Never complete a purchase without the buyer's explicit approval at the moment of payment.
- The store's base currency is CAD and the base price is CA$110. Buyers in the United States are charged in USD at the converted price the API returns. Pass context.address_country and context.currency on every call, and quote the amount and currency the API gives you for that buyer. The catalog API is the source of truth for price and stock.
- Go easy on the API. If you get a 429 response, back off and retry later.
- If the buyer already uses the Shop app, the Shop skill (https://shop.app/SKILL.md) can handle checkout through Shop Pay with their saved details.
